GridAKL is an Auckland Council funded initiative. Auckland Council is investing over $30m in the development of GridAKL over 10 years and is a key priority in the city’s Economic Development Strategy.
Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED)
ATEED is the lead agency responsible for the strategic development of GridAKL. This includes responsibility for developing GridAKL facilities and commissioning initiatives that will catalyse the innovation community in Auckland, to stimulate economic growth for the greater Auckland region and the New Zealand innovation community.
Precinct Properties is the owner of GridAKL facilities – 12 Madden Street and Mason Brothers Buildings, and the developer responsible for the physical regeneration of the wider Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct.
BizDojo operates the GridAKL start-up hub at the John Lysaght Building.
BizDojo is the home of founders as New Zealand’s only national coworking and collaboration provider with communities in GridAKL, Takapuna, Parnell, Wellington, Christchurch and soon Ponsonby and Queenstown.
BizDojo @ GridAKL is home to Founders Central, BizDojo’s iterative programme of support for founders which uses community-sourced data and insights to craft outcome driven programming designed to move the needle for New Zealand’s founder community. Current projects in play include support and learning initiatives around investment for founders created in collaboration with Greg Sitters and Ken Erskine, a founders wellness initiative and collaboration with Zeropoint Ventures – with their plan to help founders “build their business to the $1 million revenue mark within two years”.
