The partnership between GridAKL and Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO), announced during Denver Startup Week in September 2024, is strengthening ties between the technology startup communities in Auckland and Denver.
The City2City agreement supports GridAKL’s mission to grow Auckland’s innovation network and position the city as a global tech hub. Through this collaboration, startups in both cities benefit from resources like free or discounted workspaces for up to 90 days, as well as valuable introductions to local networks to help them explore new markets.
This collaboration is expanding opportunities for technology businesses in both Auckland and Denver, helping them grow and connect to local resources.
Denver, recognized as the top U.S. job market and home to 40 New Zealand tech companies, has proven to be an ideal partner for fostering innovation and collaboration. This partnership builds on GridAKL’s existing relationships with Australia and Japan, further enhancing Auckland’s global connections and aligning with the goals of Tech Tāmaki Makaurau to grow the region’s tech industry.
The partnership is a key step in creating lasting opportunities for businesses and communities in both cities.
