SUMMARY:Workplace Culture & Belonging Series: Intersectional Inclusion at Work
DESCRIPTION:Join us for breakfast and kōrero about Intersectional Inclusion at Work on Wednesday 22 July! \nPeople experience workplace culture through many connected parts of their identity and life experiences. Gender\, sexuality\, ethnicity\, disability\, age\, faith\, caring responsibilities\, socioeconomic background\, migrant status\, and many other factors can shape how people are seen\, heard\, and supported to progress. \nGender at Work’s research found that many young women and non-binary people in Aotearoa minimise parts of themselves at work. This includes 76% of non-binary respondents\, 54% of rainbow respondents\, 51% of disabled respondents\, and 30% of Māori respondents. \nNo employee should be made to feel they need to hide who they are\, and doing so has significant negative impacts on wellbeing\, engagement\, and productivity. \nAn intersectional approach invites workplaces to look more closely at less visible barriers and what it means to create belonging amid shifting demographics and a need for greater social cohesion and unity. \nAs Aotearoa New Zealand’s workforce becomes richer in diversity\, embracing the identities and lived experiences of everyone is crucial. \nCome along to hear from our incredible panel: \n\nÁine Kelly-Costello (they/them)\, Disabled Researcher\, Storyteller & Advocate\n\n\nGeorge Fowler (he/him)\, Pride Pledge Associate Director & Performer\n\n\nSara Youssef (she/her)\, Nimbl Consulting Management Consultant & Y25er\n\n\nFacilitated by Teresa Tepania-Ashton (she/her)\, YWCA Tāmaki Makaurau CEO\n\nInvite your teams\, colleagues\, and friends in P&C\, HR\, DEI\, L&D\, employee network groups\, and leadership. \nRSVP by Monday 20 July. Free for Gender at Work Members.  \nThe Venue has step-free access from the street and accessible bathrooms. \nAlt text: Event banner with the event name\, date\, time\, and photos and roles of the four speakers.
